Finished with several coats of poly based finish these rustic table tops are food safe, extremely durable and easily cleaned with a damp cloth and mild soapy water.
Our recycled timber rustic table tops are made from rescued fence palings which would otherwise have found themselves in landfill. You can’t find a more rustic table top than one made from reclaimed fence palings. These paling have been out in the Australian weather for between 15-25 years and each paling is full of unique rustic character perfect for a cafe or restaurant going for that popular rustic feel.
Once the fence palings have been de-nailed they are machined to ensure they are all exactly the same thickness. This ensures that the table is completely flat. We also run each paling over a jointer which takes out any bows in the timber meaning each paling perfectly butts up against the next one. Once the palings are the same thickness with two straight edges they are firmly attached to a stable flat substrate. All nail holes are filled with ebony filler and sanded flush creating even more rustic character.
